Beatrice Luigi Gomez Takes Lead and Crowned as the Miss Universe PH 2021

After a long road of fight and effort, Beatrice Luigi Gomez of Cebu City is now crowned as the Miss Universe Philippines 2021, making her the first member of the LGBTQ+ community who won the title.

Beatrice was asked the following question during the Top 10’s quick Q&A session: “You are beautiful because of your bravery, because you are out and proud a member of the LGBTQIA community. Do you think the Philippines is ready to send a member from your community to the Miss Universe pageant?”

She responded with a very confident and proud aura, saying “I honestly believe that our country has definitely been in a long way in battling our fight for equality especially for the LGBTQIA+ community. Our country has been very supportive and I definitely think we are definitely ready to send someone, an LGBTQIA+ member to the Universe.”

 Beatrice Luigi Gomez also won Best in Evening Gown, Best in Swimsuit, Miss Cream Silk, and Miss Luxxe Immunplus Game Changer.  Aside from her beauty, knowledge, and confidence, she also has a dedication to sports that she said during the preliminaries.

On the other hand, Katrina Dimaranan from Taguig won Miss Universe Philippines Tourism, while Cavite’s Victoria Vincent was crowned as Miss Universe Philippines Charity. Maureen Wroblewitz of Pangasinan took the 1st runner-up spot, and Steffi Rose Aberasturi of Cebu Province was the 2nd runner-up.

On Thursday, September 30, the coronation night at the Hennan Resort in Panglao, Bohol, where finalists and production crew were locked in for over a week before the coronation night to observe each health status. As for the live audience, 100 persons only were permitted to participate, and they had to be completely vaccinated and have negative RT-PCR findings.

The titleholder, Beatrice Luigi Gomez, will compete in Israel in December for the Miss Universe 2021 crown.
