Out of 44 candidates, Tracy Maureen Perez, another Cebuana, won the title and was crowned as the Miss World Philippines 2021, succeeding Michelle Dee, who reigned the title since 2019.
During the question-and-answer session, Elisse Joson, an actress, asked Perez, “After we go through this pandemic, what would you want us to learn from it?”

Perez answered with: “After this pandemic, I hope that we never take for granted the family that we have, taking care of our health, and taking care of the people that protect us — our leaders, our front liners. We should always give importance to those people. We may not see the efforts that they give out, but most definitely, they are our modern heroes. And for that, we should always be grateful, and that we should always stick with them and pray for them. Thank you.”
Due to the pandemic, pageants were suspended for a year and only resumed this year. After several changes in the schedule because of the government’s occasional restrictions and limitations, pageants have been postponed and moved until the prestigious event has been approved.
The coronation night was held at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center last Sunday, October 3.
Aside from Miss World Philippines, the pageant also bestowed six other titles. Kathleen Paton as Miss Eco Philippines; Tatyana Austria as Miss Eco Teen Philippines; Emmanuelle Vera as Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas; Shaila Robertera as Miss Multinational; Trisha Martinez as Miss Philippines Tourism; while Michelle Arceo was crowned Miss Environment International.
In December, Perez will compete in the 70th Miss World pageant, representing the Philippines, which will be held in Puerto Rico.
